UN's primary institutional goal is to build global utopia
I believe that many globalist elites have worked within the UN to expand its responsibility to an alarming degree. Now, instead of facilitating international cooperation, I believe the UN's primary institutional goal--in practice,
if not in word--is to actively build a global utopia.
The UN believes that it can--with enough power and influence--determine what is best for the world by reaching agreements by majority agreement, or better yet--consensus--among all of the member states participating at the UN.
Each country represented at the UN has an equal voice. No nation--regardless of their population, landmass, or global influence--has any more power at the UN than another. Each country has one vote.

$187K Congress-paid travel to Africa for "a Jesus thing"
In the past decade, Sen. Jim Inhofe of Tulsa has made at least 20 trips to Africa as part of a mission that he frequently describes in religious terms. Inhofe's African trips have cost taxpayers more than $187,000 since 1999.
The trips--which Inhofe
has referred to publicly as "a Jesus thing"--have spanned the continent, mostly Uganda and Ethiopia. Early this month, he and three US House members, plus staff members, visited both of those countries to talk to their leaders about AIDS.
Inhofe said he personally paid for his first trip. But since 1999, his travel has been funded by taxpayers.
Inhofe said his work in Africa focuses on humanitarian, national security and economic matters. He has also used the official travel for
fellowship activities related to the low-profile religious organization that puts on the National Prayer Breakfast. "I'm guilty of two things," Inhofe said in a recent interview. "I'm a Jesus guy, and I have a heart for Africa."

Withhold 20% of US funding from the UN
Inhofe re-introduced legislation with bipartisan support to withhold 20 percent of US funding from the UN unless the President annually confirms to the US Congress that the UN is not developing, promoting, or proposing any international taxes or fees to
be levied on the US Government or American citizens. Our governmentís primary leverage on the UN is controlling the flow of our regular contributions By collecting enormous global taxes on top of our regular contributions, the
UN would be accountable to no one. The United Nationsí abuse of international trust, rampant corruption and widespread waste are now all well known. Allowing this clearly dysfunctional institution to further extract
US dollars is absurd. Permitting this would condone the UNís long sought after goal of UN-led global governance -- something not in the best interest of the US.

Bible gives promised land to Israel; no Palestinian state
In a rambling speech Senator James Inhofe had given in the aftermath of Sept. 11, he invoked his religious fervor when he proclaimed, of the war on terror, "Make no mistake about it, this war is first and foremost a spiritual war."
He went on to speak
of the West Bank and Gaza, and insisted that Israel must never yield this "promised land" to Palestinians. Why? "Because God said so," Senator Inhofe declared. "In Genesis, the Bible says: 'The Lord said to Abram, "Lift up now your eyes for all the land
which you see, to you will I give it, and to your seed forever."
"This is God talking," the senator said. "This is not a political battle at all. It is a contest over whether or not the Word of God is true." Senator Inhofe believes the
Palestinians have no claim to the West Bank and Gaza. Certainly some Christians who read the Bible as literally as Jim Inhofe believe God would be pleased to see Israel negotiate with its Palestinian brothers and sisters and share the Promised Land.

Opponent's argument to vote No:Rep. BARBARA LEE (D, CA-9): In withholding my approval, I seek not to penalize the people of India but, rather, to affirm the principle of nuclear nonproliferation. Jettisoning adherence to the international nuclear nonproliferation framework that has served the world so well for more than 30 years, as approval of the agreement before us would do, is just simply unwise. It is also reckless.
Approval of this agreement undermines our efforts to dissuade countries like Iran and North Korea from developing nuclear weapons. By approving this agreement, all we are doing is creating incentives for other countries to withdraw from the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty.

If the funding cuts in this bill were to become law, future generations would certainly say we did too little and that we imperiled our future in the process.

The country, which is the size of Western Europe, lies at the geographic heart of Africa and borders every major region across the continent. If left untended, Congo's tragedy will continue to infect Africa.
I believe that the United States can make a profound difference in this crisis. According to international aid agencies, there are innumerable cost-effective interventions that could be quickly undertaken--such as the provision of basic medical care, immunization and clean water--that could save thousands of lives. On the political front, sustained U.S. leadership could fill a perilous vacuum.

A bill to impose sanctions on officials of the State Peace and Development Council in Burma, to prohibit the importation of gemstones and hardwoods from Burma, & to promote a coordinated international effort to restore civilian democratic rule to Burma.
(The two Senate versions currently differ in wording). The Saffron Revolution Support Act states that it is U.S. policy to:
Directs the President to submit to the appropriate congressional committees a list of:
- support the democratic aspirations of Burma's people;
- condemn the repression carried out by the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC); and
- hold accountable individuals responsible for the repression of peaceful political activity in Burma.

In the past, the lack of sufficient support from [non-participating] Arab states have made it difficult to reach agreements [on the Arab-Israeli conflict]. You should press friendly Arab countries that have not yet done so, to:
- Participate in the upcoming international meeting and be a full partner of the US in advancing regional peace
- Take visible, meaningful steps in the financial, diplomatic and political arena to help Palestinian President Abbas govern effectively and meet obligations to fight terror
- Stop support for terrorist groups and cease all anti-Israel and anti-Jewish incitement
- Recognize Israel's right to exist and not use such recognition as a bargaining chip for future Israeli concessions
- End the Arab League economic boycott of Israel in all of its forms
- Pressure Hamas to recognize Israel, reject terror, and accept prior agreements, and isolate Hamas until it takes such steps.
