State of Texas Archives: on Jobs

Greg Abbott: No state deductions of union dues on paychecks

We should end the practice of government deducting union dues from the paychecks of employees. Taxpayer money shouldn't be used to support the collection of union dues. Sen. Huffman and Rep. Sarah Davis have a good bill that addresses this problem. Let's get it to my desk.

Donald Trump: I'm the only one on this stage who's hired people

RUBIO: Donald, you've hired a significant number of people from other countries to take jobs that Americans could have filled. You have brought over a thousand people from all over the world to fill maid jobs.

TRUMP: As far as the people I've hired in Florida during the prime season, you could not get help. People didn't want to have part-time jobs. There were part-time jobs, very seasonal, 90-day jobs, 120-day jobs. I'm the only one on the stage that's hired people. You haven't hired anybody.

David Alameel: End tax breaks for sending jobs overseas

The super-rich and mega-corporations have rigged the system in their favor. They are pulling the strings of puppet politicians like John Cornyn and other Washington Republicans in favor of Wall Street--not hardworking Texas families. We need to stop sending politicians to Washington who care more about the bottom line of CEOs on Wall Street than working families in Texas. As Senator, David Alameel will advocate for:

Tom Leppert: I have created thousands of jobs; we need that in DC

Tom Leppert, a former Dallas Mayor and career business executive, said Texas should not send a career politician or a government lawyer to Washington, but instead choose an experienced businessman. "I have created thousands of jobs," Leppert said. "We don't need someone who goes out and gives speeches about free enterprise, but send someone who has been out there and done those sorts of things."
