Joe Visconti on Immigration
Immediate steps to stop the invasion of illegal immigrants
Our economy is in jeopardy, we are in a dire financial situation, yet billions of dollars are being spent on social services for people who are not in the country legally, as well as public school expenses for their children. We can not afford this and
must take immediate steps. First, close the borders. This isn't seepage or uncontrolled immigration. This is an invasion and should be treated as such. In addition to the illegal immigrants, we also are being invaded by drug smugglers and terrorists.
Next, we must impose penalties on any employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants. The mantra for years has been that illegal immigrants are taking jobs other Americans don't want. As the owner of a commercial construction company
I can tell you this is not true, they are taking skilled jobs away from my crews and many like them.
Finally we should offer illegal immigrants an opportunity to voluntarily return to their country of origin, and apply to reenter America legally.
