Luther Strange on Gun Control

Defends God-given 2nd Amendment rights

Strange has a long history as a fierce defender of Alabamians' God-given 2nd Amendment rights. As Alabama's Attorney General, Luther pushed back on municipalities that tried to restrict the rights of law-abiding citizens to conceal or open carry and stood up to federal courts when they ruled to restrict 2nd Amendment rights. He has co-sponsored the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act.

Special place in Alabamian's hearts for the 2nd Amendment

As a gun owner, lifelong sportsman, and avid defender of the Constitution, I have aggressively worked to defeat efforts to infringe on that right. The Obama Administration has attempted to encroach upon these fundamental freedoms through executive orders and other administrative actions that slowly chip away at the Second Amendment. I recently filed an amicus brief in support of the NRA's challenge of one of these unfair restrictions. The Second Amendment must be protected.

I will aggressively work to defeat legislation at the state or national level that infringes on our rights to keep and bear arms.

Alabamians hold a special place in their hearts for the 2nd Amendment. I, along with thousands of other people in our state, am a long-time and proud member of the National Rifle Association. I pledge to protect our 2nd Amendment right by working to defeat legislation that infringes on the right of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms.
